Cristine Sundquist

 

Artist's Background

Originally from St. Louis, Cristine has studied drawing, painting, and photography from the age of 12. Her early art education came from private art teachers and workshops at Washington University and the St. Louis Art Museum. She later studied Fine Arts and Art Education at the University of Kansas.  More recently Cristine has continued her education with Kim Casebeer, Phil Starke, and Marla Baggetta, among other award winning artists. Her appreciation for the uniqueness of people, as well as landscapes, is conveyed in each portrait or landscape painting. Cristine has a constant fascination with solving the problems of light, composition, and color in each painting and drawing endeavor.

 

Every year she has participated in invitational shows such as 30 Women Artists Paint Kansas at the Coutts Museum and often has work in the auction at Symphony in the Flint Hills.  She is also an Associate Member of Oil Painters of America,  juried member of Kansas Academy of Oil Painters, American Women Artists, and juried member of Women Artists of the West.
